Stopped for dinner at Badmaash Downtown after the DTLA Artwalk. Lucky to have made a reservation ahead and found street parking a block away. The restaurant is casual and good for small groups. We ordered: A butter Chicken Samosa, a side of Rosemary Naan, a side of Basmati Rice, the Slow Cooked Short Rib and the South Indian Fish Moilee. Everything came out quickly and tender. The butter chicken samosa was good and a little large. The fish moilee was really really good and creamy, but spicy! The short rib was tender and has Indian spices. The server recommended the fish moilee and the short rib, so glad he did! The restaurant has a great menu with fusion and classic dishes. All of this, plus 2 glasses of wine was $125. Can't wait to come back to try the Butter Chicken and Tikka Poutine.

We were downtown and decided to get takeout from Badmaash. The Goan pork curry was phenomenal! It was so good that it promptly made me look up whether they've published the recipe and luckily they have! I've since made it using the LA Times recipe and I tell you, it's incredible that they have this on the menu at such a reasonable price. The dish requires more than 2 dozen unique ingredients and marinating time of at least 36hrs. So if you don't want to do all that, just go eat it at Badmaash! I'd love to dine in at the restaurant at some point!

Badmaash DTLA provides flavorful dishes, with standouts like the coconut curry mussels and butter chicken samosas. The overall food is delicious, though not the pinnacle of Indian cuisine in my experience. Despite this, the establishment boasts great customer service and a clean atmosphere, enhancing the dining experience. While prices are on the higher end, it is understandable with all things considered. I don't know if I would come back, knowing that I can get the same quality, if not better, for the fraction of the price, however, I would recommend anyone to give this place a try forsure.
